Artificial intelligence and humans

This morning Peter Afonasyevich read the following: "Artificial intelligence will replace the mental labor of millions of people, and will accelerate the efficiency and progress of mankind many times over."

- It seems that artificial intelligence has already replaced the mental labor of many people," Pyotr Afonasyevich laughed. - My God, what nonsense! Thinking is the hallmark of intelligent matter. If a man stops thinking, what kind of progress is the author talking about? What will become of man? And what is "efficiency of mankind" is a mystery to me. Did the AI come up with that?
